“A Família Mitchell e a Revolta das Máquinas” dominou a premiação com impressionantes oito vitórias, superando “Sing 2” e o trio de filmes animados da Disney “Luca”, “Raya e o Último Dragão” e “Encanto”. O documentário em filme animado, “Flee”, levou o prêmio de animação independente.
A comédia sobre uma família excêntrica sendo a última esperança contra um apocalipse robô tem sido um sucesso desde que foi lançada em abril de 2021, e varreu as categorias nas quais foi indicada.
Não só os diretores Mike Rianda e Jeff Rowe ganharam prêmios de melhor roteiro e direção, como o filme venceu também nas categorias de melhor dublagem, edição, efeitos visuais e design de personagens e produção.
Mas a Disney teve algumas vitórias: “Encanto” ganhou prêmios pela animação de personagens de David Hardin, pela música de Lin-Manuel Miranda e Germaine Franco e pelo storyboard de Jason Hand. Enquanto para a Marvel, os estúdios WETA venceram por animação de personagem em live-action por seu trabalho em “Shang-Chi e a Lenda dos Dez Anéis”.
Graças à “Arcane”, a Netflix levou a melhor nas categorias de streaming/televisão, ganhando o prêmio principal de melhor série, efeitos visuais, roteiro, animação e design de personagens, design de produção, storyboard e direção.
